Preliminary Task

This is our first shot from our preliminary task, the way the character are shot and frame could suggest what our short video is going to be about.

Evaluation Question 2

In society there are a variety of social groups, some of these groups are presented in our title sequence, such as loneliness  these kind of people tend to dress very plan and in casual clothing. Another social group that is present in our title sequence is

still pictures for our title sequence.

These are our first steps of our title sequence. We went out on the 3 of March 2011 and took a few still pictures, which are shown above.

title sequence 'Blue Valentines'

This is another title sequence that i looked at and it caught my eye. The things that stood out to me was the way that the sequence was edited 2gether, it was a good way to show the mood and the theme of the film through the sound that is used. This sequences doesnt have any spoken words its all music, the hole way through.

Another ting that caught my eye in this sequence was that theres not really any filming involved in the sequence, but the audience can still get the same feel what the film is going to be abut.

Analyse title sequence of The Incredibles

The first 5 seconds of this sequence tells the audience that this film is going to be a high action animation film. Also it tells us that there's not just one action hero this there is in normal action films, this one contains a hole family that has action powers, which tells the audience that they are a team, and that they work 2gether. Before they up on there masks which shows the audience that they have super powers they look like an ordinary family, apart from the diagetic sound of the person that is talking to them which we don't see in the frame we just hear, tells us that they is going to be action.

we don't see the title of the film first we see the logo of the film, which is not usual we would normally see the title first and the logo would be included in the title. The camera then zooms into the logo which is when we first see the title of the film, as the title of the film appears the voice that is talking stops and music begins, its starts off at a medium pace but speeds up and becomes more up beat as the title moves off the screen.

After the title of the film is shown the animation changes, from a human looking animation to a cartoon animation, this shows the action that well be in the film. This also emphasis genre of the film.

The names that appear of the screen throughout the title sequence, they all mostly last 4 about 5 seconds, they are also located in the center of the screen. The names are written in bold lettering, which suggests that this is the writing that the audience should be focusing on more. the writing is also written in red which is the color of the films theme, the title is in red, the outfits of the family are red.

Analysing Tile Sequence (Se7en)

The title of this film tells me that the film is based around the number, for example something is going to happen 7 times or theres going to be 7 people or objects involved.

I found a common sequence with when the titles and actors names appeared on the screen, most of them lasted for 3 seconds and with the more important characters and actors there names where shown on a black background which mane them stand out more because they were written in white.  

Throughout the sequence there is dramatic music played which creates a tense atmosphere, but when the title of the film appeared on the screen the music gets more louder and faster, the writing also because more bigger which makes the audience focus on it more. 

The font and size of the characters names are all the same size and front. The names are written in white and the background is black which makes the names stand out more. Most of the writing had a type of front that looks very shape and like its been written fast.  Also when the title of the jobs are shown the font is a little bit different its more bold and it looks 3-D like its been stretched. When we first see the title of the film it appears as the same font and size as all the other writing that was shown before, but as the title stays on the screen longer the size of the writing gets bigger, which makes the audience focus on it more. 

I think the titles have been produced in this way to create and show the theme of the film, this is supported by the music, colours, size that is used in this sequence. 

Storyboard

For our preliminary task we had to create a storyboard which explains and analyse what is going on in every shot in our film. We had to explain how many shots we would use, how long the film will be.
We also have to say what kind of shots we used, how we edited out sequence 2gether, the sound that is used and if there is any extra noise in the shot.
The type of camera we used was a digital Panasonic one.

  



    

The program that we are using to make our own video is premiere pro. This is a professional programe which entitles uses to edit and make our short film successful.

Day 1 of filming

Wednesday 19th 2011, we shot a short little preliminary task film. Our film was about 30 secs long.
I had great fun filming it. I think I could work a lot more on my camera skills and keeping the camera straight and still. My group worked hard and well 2gether.
